Patrick Underhill, Professor and Associate Head of Chemical and Biological Engineering, was elected to be the new Secretary/Treasurer of the American Physical Society Division of Soft Matter (APS DSOFT). The four-year term will begin in March 2026 at the Global Physics Summit in Denver, CO.
APS DSOFT is a community of researchers studying the physics of soft materials, including polymers, colloids, gels, foams, biological matter, and active systems, and promotes collaboration across physics, engineering, chemistry, and biology. Professor Underhill, as the Secretary/Treasurer of APS DSOFT, oversees communication with the members of the division as well as maintains the records and finances of the division.
