Cramer Named 2026 Daniel I. C. Wang Lecturer at MIT

Steve Cramer

Prof. Steve Cramer, Institute Professor, has been named the 2026 Daniel I. C. Wang Lecturer at MIT. The Daniel I. C. Wang Lecture was established to acknowledge the enabling technologies and developments that have sustained the growth of biotechnology and the life sciences. Key fields recognized include bioprocess engineering (upstream and downstream processing), bioanalytical advances, novel delivery concepts, biomedical devices, rational drug design, computational methods, bioinformatics, and information technology. The Lectureship honors milestone achievements on the “frontiers of biotechnology” and the distinguished scientists and engineers responsible for them.

Prof. Cramer will present his research on integrating in silico modeling tools with high-throughput experimentation to expedite process development for protein-based therapeutics, as well as the design of novel bioseparation materials and processes for advanced therapy medicinal products.
